ABOUT THE EDITOR
Name: Soraya Naomi
I’m a freelance bilingual editor and writer (Dutch and English) with detail oriented skills. I aim to deliver outstanding output and never miss a deadline. My experiences vary from copy editing, proofreading, translating to beta reading.
After receiving my Arts, Media & Culture degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam, I’ve worked as a copywriter and translator. In 2012, I decided to devote more time to my first love, which is reading. I started reviewing on goodreads.com, where I connected with many writers. And I began copy editing for fiction authors and published a romantic suspense series.
I’m currently available to proofread or copy edit fiction romance books. My field of experience is romance (Contemporary, Dark, Historical, New Adult, Paranormal, Romantic Suspense).

EDITING SERVICES AND FEES
Two different types of editing
Proofreading: The proofreader is assigned to check a reproduction of what the finished novel will look like. And the task is not revision, but correction — making sure that no typographical errors remain. A proofreader provides a final check of the electronic file for mistakes in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, redundancy, flow, spacing, format, font, and so on.
Copy editing: The copy editor’s task is to finesse a writer’s prose so that it observes all the conventions of good writing. The copy editor is the one who makes sure the manuscript’s syntax is smooth, that wording is proper and precise and punctuation is appropriate and correctly placed. The editor may also do or suggest some reorganizing, recommend changes to chapter titles and subheadings, and call out lapses in logic or sequential slip-ups. The copy editor will also correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, flow, redundancy, transition, and problems with syntax; will ensure that singular pronouns represent singular nouns and plural pronouns, plural nouns; will make style decisions regarding punctuation, source citations, whether to spell out numbers or leave them as numerals, Latin abbreviations, foreign words, quotations, how to use titles, when to italicize words or use quotation marks, etc. The copy editor ensures that the proper tense and tone are maintained throughout the book and provides suggestions to smoothly transition from one paragraph to the next.
The editor offers a fixed price (based upon the length of the manuscript).
Proofreading: $399 (80,000-word manuscript)
Copy editing: $35 per hour/ $0,014 per word ($1,120 for an 80,000-word manuscript)
I do accept Paypal.
